WHAT IS THE STOTAN?
The Stotan has been a long-time New Year's Eve tradition for our athletes. They complete a grueling series of swimming and running events, finishing off with a pancake breakfast, provided by the CHS Swimming and Diving Booster Club and parents. This is a great way to push your boundaries as the year comes to a close.
WHAT IS GOLDEN GOGGLES?
Golden Goggles is a long tradition for our athletes. They complete a series of swimming/diving events to determine which athletes receive a parka. This is followed by a pancake breakfast provided by the CHS Swimming & Diving Booster Club and parents. Typically parkas & team wear are distributed following breakfast.
HIGH SCHOOL STATE - HOW DO I GET TO GO?
This is a qualifier meet which means the Sectional Champion of each event automatically attends. Any swimmer who makes the Auto-Cut for that event will also attend. Your next opportunity is an at-large position. If there are any spots available after the Sectional Champion and the Auto-Cuts, then the spots are fill by taking the next fastest swimmer in the state until all at-large spots are filled.Coaches make the final decision on who swims in prelims and finals of all relays, regardless of who swam the finals heat in Sectionals. After Sectionals, divers will compete in Regionals, then State depending on their final standings. Overnight Travel Forms must be received BEFORE the athletes leave the school. Place in the CHS Swim & Dive mailbox outside the pool doors.Athletes are leaving Thursday after school. They will compete both Friday and Saturday (if make finals). They are excused from school.Tickets for this meet are available at www.ihsaa.com before Sectionals. Tickets go FAST so get early if you want a reserved seat, otherwise bleacher seats can be purchased the day of the meet.
